Wild elephants attacked the house of Chathurika Dihari (21) mother of one, in Karuwalagaswawa on the morning of September 15, completely destroying the brick walled house, thatched roof, personal belongings and consumed some 20 bushels of paddy stored inside. The house, built from money earned from farming and daily wage labour, was valued at some Rs. 400,000.
