Mr. Fernando, who was a talented global award winning artist, started life as a fashion designer and had a weekly fashion column of his own in the Daily News. Thereafter he set up an advertising agency which grew to be one of the biggest at that time, they said.

His daughters, Solin and Samantha, are bringing the ashes to Sri Lanka and are interested in meeting his numerous friends and colleagues. They can be contacted through his nephew Devsiri Fernando at 072-2251420.
