A 24-year old Briton was refused entry into Sri Lanka as he had a tattoo of the Buddha on his arm.
The visitor was spoken to by Chief Immigration Officer Jayantha Ratnayake at the airport, but he maintained he was entitled to his freedom.
“We contacted Immigration Controller Chulananda Perera and the man was refused entry to the country but not deported,” Mr. Ratnayake said. The Immigration Controller told the Sunday Times the decision to refuse entry was made for the safety of the British visitor.
