Piramal Glass Ceylon PLC (PGC) said its first half results for the year saw 8 per cent growth in turnover to Rs. 2.6 billion and marginal growth of post-tax profit to Rs. 414 million.

The company said domestic sales value grew by 12 per cent to Rs. 2 billion with a dip in the overall growth of the domestic market especially in the liquor and food sector.

The company broadened its geographical spread of exports by selling 28 per cent of its exports in the Australia/New Zealand market which was only 8 per cent in the previous year.

New product development was at its peak during the period. PGC developed a new range liquor bottles in different colours for Australian and Indian markets.
