1500 TT tables to schools Islandwide

Deputy Minister of Construction, Engineering Services, Housing Construction and Common Amenities, Lasantha Alagiyawanna was elected uncontested as the President of Sri Lanka Table Tennis Association (TTASL) for a second term at the Annual General Meeting held recently at the Otters Aquatic Club in Colombo.

Alagiyawanna pledged that he will make arrangements to distribute 1500 playing tables to schools Islandwide. He added that this exercise will receive the fullest support of Ministry of Education who will fund for 1000 tables at a cost of Rupees 25 million. The remaining 500 tables have been allocated through the Ministers’ and Provincial Council Parliament Members’ decentralized budgets.

The president of TTASL hopes to popularize table tennis throughout the country with this effort.
