Softlogic PLC, through its subsidiary, Future Automobiles (Pvt) Ltd., will launch a high-tech 3S (Sales, Service and Spare parts) facility at Pelawatte, Battaramulla for their recently acquired dealership with Ford, officials said.

“Future Automobiles, a 100%-owned subsidiary of Softlogic Holdings Ltd, plans to build a new world – class Ford showroom and service facility in Pelawatte and launch it somewhere in October," Sujeeva Premaratne, Chief Operations Officer Future Automobiles told the Business Times.

He said that this facility will be 75,000 square feet and will be designed and developed in accordance with Ford’s latest global showroom design standards to offer a superior brand and purchase experience.

“We are awaiting approvals from the relevant authorities,” he added. Ford introduced five world – class Ford vehicles to the Sri Lankan market in June including its largest – ever - the Ford Everest SUV, Ford Ranger pickup, and Ford Focus, Ford Fiesta and Ford Figo passenger cars.

He said that the company has secured a 20% share in the monthly sales in the pick-up truck market in the country within six months of its operations. As the authorized Ford dealer for Sri Lanka, Future Automobiles aims to become one of the top three car companies in the country within its first three years of operation.

Mr. Premaratne said that the company plans to further cater to their customer demands by offering a unique range of specialized Ford vehicle modifications. “Over the coming years Ford aims to raise their profile and attract customers through more global products and services on offer in Sri Lanka,” Mr. Premaratne added.
