Kumari bags Gold at Gujarat Karate event

Indra Kumari Liyatha Mendis bagged Gold Medals at the Second South Asian Karate Championships held in Gujarat, India.

She is a student of Maliduwa Sariputra Maha Vidyalaya, Boosa. Her specialty is in the karate styles of ‘kumte’ and ‘kata’.

In 2010 Kumari won Bronze at the under 21 All Island karate championships ‘kata’ event and followed it up with Gold at the 2010 Schools Karake Championships in ‘kata’ and Bronze in the ‘kumte’ event.
