Laxman wins Tour de Sri Lanka Youth Cycle race

24 year old Laxman Senevirathna of the Sri Lanka Army won the innaugaral Tour de Sri Lanka Youth cycle race organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Skills development in a close finish from team mates Dilipa prabath and Sameera Chathuranga.

Laxman finished with a time of 8:24:32 while Dilipa Prabath clocked 8:24:45. Third place went to 21 year old Sameera Chaturanga who won the youth contest clocking 8:24:50. Sudeera Nilanga of the Sri Lanka Police came in fourth with a time of 8:24:51 and Kumara Abeysingha of the Sri Lanka Airforce was fifth in 8:24:52.

The 366 km race conducted in three stages started in Batticaloa and ended in Matara. Laxman Wijerathna, Ishan Sandakelum and Kumara Abeysingha were the winners of the final stage from Tissamaharama to Matara.
