New Expressway a blessing, says industry experts

With the opening of the Southern Expressway the tourism industry is set to witness a boom with southern hotels bracing for new competition. Industry experts opine that the opening of the new expressway it has resulted in sharp gains for the tourism industry.

Sri Lanka Inbound Tour Operators President Nilmin Nanayakkara told the Business Times that the industry will witness the opening up of new competition for hotels from Colombo to Bentota.
In this regard, it was noted that tourism will yet again benefit as this new expressway would definitely help the resort hotels from Bentota and beyond.

Further other industry analysts point out that the road and transportation in any country is likely to have a major impact on tourism. It was noted that with travel time cut down by half in time to come these proper transportation systems are set to cause an improvement to the country.
