Nadika Kumari leads girls hockey team

Sri Lanka Navy player Nadika Kumari leads the 18-member Sri Lanka Under-21 girls’ hockey team at the third Asian Hockey Federation Trophy which began yesterday in Bangkok, Thailand.
This will be the very first occasion where the Sri Lankan youngsters take part in a competition organized by the Asian Hockey Federation. Sri Lanka will be one of the seven countries taking part in the competition where hosts Thailand, China, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan and Indonesia are also competing. Prior to the competition the stickers trained under Rohan Dissanayake at the Matale Hockey Stadium for almost a month. Teams that win the gold, silver and bronze medals will be eligible to take part in the Asian Trophy Junior Hockey Tournament which will be held in 2012. The tournament ends on June 12.
