Thus, a recent initiative has been the much celebrated Achievers Idol 2011 organized by the Achievers Lanka Business School Students’ Society.

The Achievers Idol 2011 is an event that has indeed added a new paradigm to the world of CIMA, by enabling vibrant young individuals to exhibit their innate abilities in different walks of life. Thereby, Achievers Idol 2011 acts as a platform to expose the skills and prowess beyond books, of these aspiring young individuals.

Achievers Idol 2011 has been precisely formulated to elicit three different innate abilities of students and mould them into successful corporate personalities in the future. The three avenues that would form the three platforms of the Achievers Idol 2011, would be Business Personality, Virtuoso & Talent Star.

Business Personality would be aimed at eliciting the corporate presentation capabilities of students, while Virtuoso would analyze the academic prowess, while Talent Star would be the platform to showcase the entertainer lingering within these individuals. Thus, a test on these three avenues would equip the contestants with the armoury to undertake the corporate and societal challenges paramount in the global arena.

The journey towards moulding this epic evening began, two months back with the commencement of Achievers Business Personality in February. The Final round of Business Personality was held on March 27 at CIMA auditorium. The event ended with Sachini de Silva being crowned as the Business Personality. With the Virtuoso event running parallel to the Business Personality, searching the best individual in studies was held with an exam and a quiz. With some exceptional studying skills Devinda Wijewardena was crowned as Virtuoso. Preliminary rounds of Talent were completed by mid March to set up the extravagant final day.

Achievers Idol 2011 Grand Finale was held on of April 9, 2011 with the presence of eminent personalities. This evening sparked of grandeur, glamour and a nerve wracking contest among the participants. The final was judged by famous personalities in the entertainment industry, namely Mr. Billy Fernando, Mr. Derek Wickramage and Mr. Fauzal Hameed (CEO Hameedias). With various different talents such as singing, acting, rapping, dancing and magic the judges had a tough time in deciding the winner of the event, ultimately with an exceptional mix of rapping and magic, Nadun Seneviratne was crowned as Achievers Mr. Talent.

The night was launched by a superb performance done by Billy Fernando. The night did not just bring out the talents of the contestants, but it also brought out the talent of the students at Achievers. They entertained the crowd with dances and songs, and were capped off by another great performance by a student at Achievers Aneesha Fernando.

The "Achievers Idol" is the student who has the highest marks from all the categories. "The allrounder", the person who is good in studies, business presentation skills, personality, singing, dancing and many other various talents. After so many rounds of competing, out of more than 200 students, when all the points were tallied up, it was Bernadine Jayasinghe who was crowned as Achievers Idol. She received her award from the chief guest for the day, Kavinda de Zoysa (Vice President - City Bank). Bernadine is a student in the CIMA Operational Level at Achievers and was praised by all the guests for her ability to balance her studies and extra-curricular activities in the challenging CIMA educational world.
