A tribute to a great Teacher: Ms Damayanthi Perera

Ms Damayanthi Perera recently retired after distinguished service of over three decades at Joseph Vaz College, Wennappuwa.

She joined the staff of Joseph Vaz College in 1974 and her tenure of unstinted service is characterized by rich achievements, distinction and dedication.

The service rendered to the school by her is immortal and cannot be quantified in any way and her memory will be etched in the hearts of all Vazians.

She has been a tower of strength to the school and helped to mould well disciplined Vazians of the highest calibre with the right attitudes and moral values.

The students she taught have become renowned professionals who render yeoman service to the country. They recall fond memories of Ms Damayanthi Perera and say in unison that the motivation given by her helped them to achieve the top echelons in life.

Her past students including very senior professionals in our country under the guidance and patronage of the Rev Fr Principal Priyanjeewa Gunarathne have decided to organize a grand Felicitation Ceremony in appreciation of the services rendered by Ms Damayanthi Perera.

This will be held on May 1 at 4.00 pm in the Diamond Jubilee Hall of the school. Students of Ms Damayanthi Perera are invited
