Funday Times - A Poem for the week

World Cup 2011

By Malsha Mannage (13 years), Lyceum Int. School

The World Cup 2011,
Will be shaken by our super eleven,
Dilshan and Mahela smash the balls,
They fly to sixes over the walls.

Sanga keeps everything cool,
No one around can ever fool.
Malinga and Mendis spin the balls,
So Indian batsmen run over the walls.

Mathews spins the bat and ball,
As he stands high and tall,
Playing sixes and catching wickets,
Which sold out the entrance tickets.

Pakistanis, Australians can never dream,
To be equal to the Sri Lankan team,
Where the batsmen and
bowlers work backup,
To win the champions World Cup.
