Intruder was tied to a tree in Jaffna

An intruder who had allegedly attempted to enter a house in Nirveli, a village near Jaffna, was overpowered by neighbours and tied to a tree until the police arrived, police said.

The man, identified as a soldier, was produced before Magistrate A.A. Anandaraj and remanded for a week. The incident occurred on Friday.
