SA Beach Sports Festival in Hambantota next year

Two committees and ten sub-committees have been formed to stage the first ever South Asia Beach Sports Festival in Hambantota in August next year.

The following sports are to be worked off at this competition: Swimming, Handball, Kabbadi, Netball, Rowing, Rugby, Bodybuilding, Football and Cricket. Sri Lanka requested to hold this contest at the Asian Olympic Council recently and permission was granted.

Sports Minister Mahinda Aluthgamage is the president of the main committee and include Minister Dilan Perera, Namal Rajapaksa and Olympic Committee Chairman Hemasiri Fernando.
This competition will be held according to President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s orders.
