Aussie Tom Jones to rock Colombo

He was born and bred in Wales. He looks like Tom Jones, he sings like Tom Jones and on stage Jacques Renay is Tom Jones! Jacques Renay is no stranger to the stage with a wealth of live experience.

Having performed on “Hey Hey it`s Saturday”, the ”Midday Show”, on “Home With John Mangos”, BBC & ITV London weekend, appeared on several European TV shows and at the Sydney Opera House, he has also toured extensively throughout Germany, Holland, Romania, Bulgaria and Hungary.

Jacques Renay has also performed in concert with Charles Asnavour, Jack Jones, Roy Orbison, Al Martino, Gene Pitney and the great Louis Armstrong, not to mention performing for Queen Elizabeth three times and of course with the legend himself Tom Jones.

This year his show took the coveted “MO” Award for the Top Tribute show after being presented with the “Ace Award” in 2006 (also winning the title in 2007 and 2008).

The Australian Tom Jones Experience performed in Penang Malaysia for the 2003, 2004, 2005 New Year’s eve concerts and in Colombo for the World Airlines awards sponsored by Air Lanka/Emirates & MTV some years ago.

Jacques also performed the Welsh National Anthem for the Wales vs Wallabies Rugby international for 85,000 people at the Olympic Stadium in Sydney. In 2008, he performed in Dubai for the World Rugby Sevens.

Together with a five piece band and two fabulous ‘Pussycats’, you have an energy pulsating show. Jacques Renay will be performing in Colombo on Sunday, October 17 at the BMICH, with the concert being organized by Himalaya.
