Tapping into the stockmarket

The Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka and the Institute of Certified ProfessionalManagers, will hold a seminar on ‘Investing in the Stock Market,’ next week.
The seminar will be held on August 19 at the Taj Samudra Hotel, targeting CMA and CPM members, passed finalists, CEO's, General Managers, accountants, entrepreneurs, investors, managers and executives and management trainees, the organisers said.

In a falling interest rate environment, the seminar will cover topics that are useful to investors who plan to make use of the current boom in the stock market. The topics covered at the seminar include, the role of the stock exchange in promoting the stock market, capital market development, company analysis, stock broking functions and investor services and diversification of investments.

The speakers at the seminar are from institutions that are part of the capital market and bring practical experience and knowledge. The seminar will also include a panel discussion with the participation of the CEO of the Colombo Stock Exchange Surekha Sellahewa, the Deputy Director General of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka Malik Cader, the CEO of the Investment Banking Cluster of NDB Vajira Kulatillake.
