ICBT Campus, the leading provider of private higher education in Sri Lanka has launched a range of world-class degree programmes in collaboration with the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff (UWIC) at a glamorous ceremony held at Rajabojun Ceylinco Seylan Towers in Colombo on July 23, 2010.
ICBT Campus, which pioneered the introduction of foreign education programmes to Sri Lanka more than a decade ago, has now introduced a range of British qualifications which are globally recognized and affordable.

UWIC is a highly respected university in the UK with many prestigious credentials to its name.
It is ranked amongst the top three Universities in Wales and in the top 10 new universities in the UK by the Independent's Complete University Guide 2010.

In addition, UWIC is currently ranked the top new university in Wales by the Guardian University Guide, the Times Good University Guide and the Sunday Times University Guide. This year, the university is one of the only universities in Wales to improve its UK rankings in all four major university guides and is now ranked in the top 60 universities in the whole of the UK by the Guardian University Guide and the Independent University Guide.

UWIC degrees at ICBT Campus will present a unique opportunity for Sri Lankan students to gain a qualification from a high ranking university. Special considerations to costs have been given and Master’s Degree can be completed for approximately LKR. 480,000 and Bachelor’s Degree (top-up) for LKR. 350,000.

UWIC degrees taken at ICBT Campus will be awarded in accordance with strict UK Quality Assurance Agency policies and the students have the option of transferring to Wales and even attending the graduation ceremony in the UK. Students will also have access to the University's on-line portal where they can find important programme related material and information.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Jagath Alwis, Chairman of ICBT Campus said: "These UWIC degrees have all the components a prospective student looks into before enrolling for a programme; namely 'recognition, affordability, accessibility, duration and quality of delivery".

Dr. Mohamed Loutfi, Director of International Development at UWIC commented while at the launch event: "UWIC courses are career-orientated and aim to prepare students for long-term success in their chosen employment areas. Even though the programmes are internationally recognized and respected, they remain competitively priced so that students get maximum value for their money. We were searching for a partner in Sri Lanka to deliver our high quality programmes without compromising in quality and it is a great achievement for us to find such a partner in Sri Lanka, ICBT Campus."
Commenting further about the exciting new partnership Mr. Mohan Pathirana, CEO and Executive Director of ICBT Campus, said: "As ICBT Campus is celebrating 10 years of excellence in education this year, the UWIC MBA will be our gift to all those who aspire to be MBA graduates of high calibre with wider employability opportunities."

ICBT Campus is proud of its reputation for providing students with a first-class learning environment and boasts a range of state-of-the-art facilities including specious lecture rooms with air-conditioning, audio visual equipment, Broadband Internet with wifi access, libraries, cafeterias and recreational facilities.
