Budget bells on Tuesday

The Government will present its Appropriation Bill to Parliament next Tuesday to outline its allocations for the next five months of the year.

The Budget will be presented to parliament on June 29 . Four days have been allocated for the debate on the second reading and five days for the committee-stage debate. The vote will be taken on July 9.

The budget will cover expenditure for the whole year and will include the vote on account and funds approved to cover the period up to July 22 this year. The total expenditure for this year will be Rs.1,780 billion.
