Remembering ‘Thamba’

A thanksgiving service will be held on Sunday, April 25 at the Holy Trinity Church at St. Lawrence’s Road, Wellawatte (Colombo 6) to mark the 100th birth anniversary of the late Mr. M.T. Thambapillai, Master-in-Charge of Rugby Football at Royal College, Colombo from 1947 to 1970.

Mr. Thambapillai was a popular figure with at least two generations of Royalist rugby players from a period just prior to Independence until his retirement. The Thanksgiving Service will commence at 5 p.m.
