WORLD PRIZE FOR PATHE ACADEMY |
People's Academy for Tertiary and Higher Education (PATHE Academy) recently held the Confederation of Tourism and Hospitality UK (CTH) 2009-Awards celebration.

The first and only world prize winner in Sri Lanka for CTH June 2009, 24 year-old Romali Pallegama, a Bishop collegiate who was doing her studies for CTH along with plying her professional service at the Saman Villas, Bentota was awarded the world prize by the Chief Guest of the event Assistant Secretary to the Ministry of Tourism Mr. Jayantha Edirisinghe. Other invitees included Mr. Roy Jayasinghe, Director General & Ms. Malini Ganegoda, Registrar, Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism & Hotel Management and the Guest of Honour Dr. Maria Munasinghe, Public Relation officer, Russian Cultural Centre(RCC), Embassy of Russian Federation.
Some students who got the awards were among the top ten in the world and regarded by CTH as a considerable achievement.

The CTH Diploma and Advanced Diploma programmes are recognised by major organisations in the Hospitality and Tourism industries as suitable for employment at supervisory and management level.
CTH Management Programmes have been awarded Institute of Hospitality Endorsement, (formerly the HCIMA).
All learners on CTH Diploma programmes are eligible for Affiliate Membership of the Institute of Hospitality, and learners who successfully complete the CTH Advanced Diploma programmes are eligible to apply for Associate membership.
The qualifications are recognized by a number of British universities.
