"Leadership Seminar" for school prefects by Lions Club of Mawanella

International Association of Lions Clubs is one of the largest service organizations in the world. A leadership Seminar for 100 school prefects of the Mawanella region was organized by Lion Azam Ameer - District Chairman for Youth Empowerment of Lions District 306 C1 and Vice President of Lions Club of Mawanella.

This is one of the major projects performed by the Lions Club of Mawanella during the year 2009. Currently Lion Imthiaz Hassen PhD is serving as the president of the Club which is 18 years old and has made a noteworthy contribution to the Mawanella region and to entire Sri Lanka. The Minister of Finance and State Revenue and Deputy Minister of Finance and Planning Ranjith Siyambalapitiya was the Chief Guest at this project. The seminar was conducted by Mr Slinda Sri Jayawardana (Deputy Regional Manager, Central Region - Sampath Bank)

During a discussion with the TEAM EDUCATION of Times Lion Azam Ameer mentioned that, since the school plays a major role in enriching the youth with leadership qualities we have decided to conduct a specialized "Leadership Seminar" for school prefects on Leadership Development and planning to do similar projects in the future.
