SSC fight back after NCC onslaught
Under 23 Final

Demintha Dahanayake with a fine knock of 205 and Roshan Laksiri who made 88 came to the rescue of NCC and put the side on top with a scintillating batting display on day two of their Under 23 Division One inter-club cricket final against traditional rivals SSC played at the SSC ground yesterday.

The pair joined together when NCC was in a bad position with the score on 197 for 7. They carried the bat from there on to see NCC finish the first day’s play (on Friday) on a healthy 324 for 7 having associated in an unbroken stand of 127 runs. SSC in reply helped by half tons from Dimuth Karunaratne who made 64 and Hans Fernando who is unbeaten on 63 made a bold reply and were 209 for 3

Sachith helps CCC take lead
CCC skipper Sachith Pathirana with a fine knock of 88 helped his side take a first inning lead over Navy SC at the end of the second day’s play in their Under 23 Division Two cricket final played at the R. Premadasa Stadium.

Sachith’s 85 ball knock comprised 11 boundaries and a six enabling CCC end the day on 288 for 8 in reply to Navy SC’s 262.

The first day’s play saw Navy’s Dilan Chandima crack a 108 supported by another knock of 88 from Lakmal Keerthiratne.

Today is the final day of play, unless something dramatic takes place CCC is assured of the title having already obtained a first inning lead.
