Alston promotes Sri Lanka in Malaysia

SriLankan born Australian Alston Koch who is also Ambassador for Sri Lanka Tourism will be waving the Sri Lankan flag along with Sri Lanka’s cricketing ‘greats’ of yesteryear in Penang and Kuala Lumpur during the first week of August.

Aravinda De Silva, Sunil Wettumuny, Asanka Gurusinghe, Ravi Ratnayake, Dav Whatmore are some of the confirmed cricketers who will play against Malaysian teams in Penang and Kuala Lumpur.

No expense has been spared with the cricketing associations of Malaysia combining to fly out Alston Koch who has four shows booked out at the Park Royale Hotel in Penang and Kuala Lumpur.

It will bring back memories to this legendary entertainer who used to pack the ‘Supper Club’ at the Lanka Oberoi (Now Cinnamon Grand) during the visits of the Australian Cricket Team and there were times when Alan Border, Greg Chappell and Kim Hughes joined the entertainer on stage during his performances.

Interviewed by the Straits Times in Malaysia, Koch said he hopes to invite his heroes like Aravinda De Silva and Sunil Wettimuny to join him during his performances.  

Alston Koch will be inviting the people of Malaysia to visit Sri Lanka and will also be singing the song he composed for Sri Lanka Tourism ‘A Small Miracle’ with special visuals he has compiled himself in order to get the message across.

Malaysian royalty will grace the occasion with tickets selling as high as  Malaysian $ 2000/- each.
