New song:Tribute to Malani

'Maliniye Roo Rajiniye', the new song dedicated to the queen of Sinhala silver screen sung by Lucky Deva formerly of Golden Chimes and the main vocalist of 'Spirit' will be launching on Sunday, October 19 at 5.30 pm at Ran Mal Holiday Resort Moratuwa.

Malani Fonseka, will be there to grace the occasion and the first copy of this CD will be presented to Malini Fonseka by Lucky Deva. The CD comprises 'Maliniye Roo Rajiniye' is a special song composed for Malani and sixteen other songs sung by Lucky Deva. This album refreshes 17 songs with rhymes and rhythms of 70's, 80s. Many are interested in naming its rhymes and rhythms as out-dated. Hence Lucky Deva wants to emphasize even at present, people appreciate these songs.

'I always wanted to do a collection of 70's and 80's songs and there is a great demand and appreciation for these songs. This CD comprises some of the songs of popular singers, that you have not heard so far in a CD or in a audio cassette produced in the 70s and 80s' Lucky Deva explained.

The team that supported the music to this CD are Indrani Perera, Annesley Malawana, Mariazelle Gunathilaka, Christine Gunawardena, Shanika Wanigasekera and also young Oshanthi Dalpadadu and Shenya Thelge of the younger generation.

The backing music for this album was provided by 'Spirit', the band who has been very popular, and has captured the hearts of many. 'The '70 '80 decades have been a revolutionary period for the music world. Even today this style of music of the good old days has not faded. Whatever style of music come to light now people appreciate and prefer the rhyme and rhythm of '70, '80 decades. At parties, when going on trips, at weddings, still people sing these popular group songs or the new songs composed to the rhythm of 70s & 80s.' he said.

The grand ceremony to launch ‘Maliniye Roo Rajiniye’ will be a star studded event, where most of the artistes will be present to grace the occasion. 'This serves a dual purpose, for the present generation and for the fans who will really appreciate, love and will be musically thrilled with the Golden Oldies' he added.

The new CD is produced by M. Entertainment.
