Not an ITN official - Right of reply

Responding to an article which appeared in The Sunday Times last week ITN General Manager W.P.A.M.Wijesinghe says:

“It has been mentioned in a prominent sub title that Mr. Edwin Ariyadasa is a top ITN official. The text says that Mr. Ariyadasa is a Director of ITN and that “Sakvithi” hosted many television programmes with Mr. Ariyadasa’s influence.

I wish to state that Mr. Edwin Ariyadasa has never been a Director of ITN, Mr. Ariyadasa has also never been an official of ITN.

Mr. Ariyadasa has in no way influenced us to telecast “Sakvithi” television programmes.

ITN did not telecast any TV programmes with the appearance of Mr. Sakvithi Ranasinghe and Mr. Edwin Ariyadasa together and the ITN has obtained Mr. Edwin Ariyadasa’s service only as a free lance resource person.
