Supernatural mayhem

These strange beings were spotted by Peter Quince and his actors deep in the forest during rehearsals for Pyramus & Thisby. It is believed that they possess supernatural powers and are able to change even the weather with the help of forest spirits. It is reported that the creatures caused mayhem at Quince's night-time rehearsals by scaring the actors almost senseless, especially an actor named Bottom.

It's just over a week away! What's more, the tickets are finally available at selected Cargills outlets! So rush now if you want to experience Shakespeare as never before. Pyramus & Thisby is expected to be the most spectacular experience from CentreStage Productions.

This adaptation, which brings together actors, dancers, musicians and acrobats from around Sri Lanka, is designed, directed and choreographed by Jehan Aloysius.

The original fusion music soundtrack is performed by Avanti Perera and Jehan. Moreover, the production also features sumptuous costumes stitched by Hilma Salahudeen and lighting designed by Thushan Dias.

Loosely based on the two sub-plots of the 'artisans' and the fairies in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Pyramus & Thisby, as described by the show's creator Jehan, is "40% Shakespeare and 60% devised theatre, dance and physical comedy".

Pyramus & Thisby comes alive from November 10, 11, and 12 at the unique setting of the St. Joseph's College Quadrangle, Colombo 10. So, it's time to rush out and grab your tickets at Cargills Food City outlets in Staple Street, Colpetty, Nawala, Mount Lavinia or Kirulapone.
