New Transport and Logistics Management degree

The Department of Transport and Logistics Management of the Faculty of Engineering of University of Moratuwa has started a new undergraduate degree programme ‘Honours Degree of bachelor of Science in Transport and Logistics Management (B Sc (TLM) Hons.)’ from this year.

“This university is the first institution in South Asia to offer an undergraduate course in this key subject which is very important to a growing economy. This subject concerns with the management of the movement of passengers and the flow of goods and information through the value chain from material acquisition at production to its final consumption,” according to a statement from the university.

The training and development that students receive in this degree programme conducted in English medium will develop the knowledge and skills necessary to equip undergraduate students to face the modern day challenges of a career in management with a specialization in the fields of aviation, shipping and public transport or in logistics and supply chain management. The course includes a six month full time training in industry, which will be developed in close collaboration with the industry, especially the potential employers.

Admission will be based on the University Grant Commission placements at G C E Advanced Level from the subjects combination of Combined Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
