Romantic dinner for a special occasion

As yet another feature of its continuing bicentennial celebrations, the hotel will show its appreciation to all brides and grooms who choose the hotel as the venue for their wedding or homecoming. This November, the hotel will be laying out a special dinner for couples at the amazing price of Rs 200 per head, staying in line with the theme of “two hundred”. The dinner buffet will be held on November 20, 21, 22 and 23, at the Empire Ballroom.

Ever-famous for its romantic past revolving around the secret affair between Sri Lanka’s second British Governor, Sir Thomas Maitland and the local dancer Lavinia, the hotel has continued to be a much-loved location for couples tying the knot. “Mount Lavinia Hotel hosts the most number of weddings in the country, with the number going up to a thousand, per year. And this is our way of thanking these couples for choosing our hotel as the venue for their special day,” said General Manager Bazeer Cassim.

This special dinner will be an ideal opportunity for couples of all eras to relive memories of a memorable day in their lives. The delectable cuisine will be accompanied by lights, music and entertainment to enhance the ambience.

So if your wedding or homecoming was held at the hotel, all you need to do is post your name and contact details, and that of your spouse’s, along with either your wedding invitation or a copy of the receipt you received from the hotel at the time of making the payment for the event to “Nostalgic Prices”, PR Office, Mount Lavinia Hotel, 100 Hotel Road, Mount Lavinia, to reach them by Tuesday, November 7.

All entries will be entered into a draw and 1003 lucky couples, making it 2006 invitees in total, symbolic of this year, will be selected. The chosen couples will be informed by the hotel. Proceeds from the promotion will be used for the development of the fishing village adjoining the hotel.
