Arts Faculty at University of Jaffna undergoes changes
View(s):The Education Ministry has decided to gazette these respective departments under two different faculties, an official from the University of Jaffna said recently.
Accordingly, the Department of Music, Department of Instrumental Music, Department of Dance, Department of Painting, Department of Sculpture and Department of Drama and Theatre Arts have been gazetted under the Sri Ponnambalam Ramanathan Faculty of Performing and Visual Arts.
Under the Faculty of Arts the following departments have been gazetted: the Department of Economics, Department of Geography, Department of Philosophy, Department of Linguistics and English, Department of Christian and Islamic Civilization, Department of Tamil, Department of History, Department of Education, Department of Fine Arts, Department of Political Science, Department of Sociology, Department of Law, Department of English Language Teaching, Department of Media Studies, and the Department of Translation Studies.
