Favourites reach knock-out stage

The Dialog Netball Championships which got underway at the Digana Sports Complex saw exciting first days play with top right teams earning their quarter-final berths. There were 30 teams competing in the group stage with leaders in each group qualifying for the knock-out stage of the tournament.

Hattion National Bank and Sri Lanka Ports Authority will play the first quarter-final to be played today while Kandy District Netball Association (DNA) and Kurunegala DNA will play the second quarter-final. Sri Lanka Army will battle it out against Kalutara DNA in the third game before Air Force and Colombo DNA compete in the final quarter final game to decide the semifinalists.

The semis and the finals are scheduled for later today. The tournament is being used as platform to identify more talented players to be added to the National Pool as Sri Lanka begins its preparations for the 2022 Asian Netball Championships which is scheduled to be played from September 3-10 in Singapore.
