Evergreen golfers, Capt. Jayalath Perera (Rtd) and Niloo Jayathilake stamped their class in the Men’s and Women’s segment respectively, wining the Commander’s Cup at the ninth edition of the Sri Lanka Air Force conducted annual event which took place at the picturesque China Bay, Eagles Golf Link course in Trincomalee yesterday.

Jayathilake showed her class with some top class golf, long range drives and pin point accuracy as she powered her way to win the title. She also accounted for a double and won the longest drive for the Women’s segment.

More than 90 golfers teed off in the colorful annual event organised by Sri Lanka Air Force.

Along with the main event (Commander’s Cup) there are a few more special events including the Eagles Challenge Trophy for the Best Golfer from the Tri Forces and awards for the Longest Drives and Closest to the Pin and for the Minimum Putt in four selected holes.

Commander’s Cup Results:

Men’s: Capt. Jayalath Perera (Rtd) (winner), Dihan Dedigama (runner-up)

Women’s: Niloo Jayathilake (winner), Sumudu Desinghe (runner-up)

Eagle Challenge Trophy: Cdre K.M.M.P. Karunathilake

Longest Drive (Men’s): Prabath Gamage

Longest Drive (Women’s): Niloo Jayathilake

Closest to the Pin: Group Capt Sarath Wijesinghe (Rtd)

Minimum Putt: Tharusha Pilapitiya
