The Government has proposed several indoor activities to evaluate student performance on a weekly basis when schools remain closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, officials said.

They said the activities would be introduced under a programme titled ‘Sustaining the education of children during pandemic times’. It would be introduced on August 1.

The programme calls on teachers and principals to issue weekly reports after evaluating student performance with inputs from parents.

Another key feature of the programme is the appointment of education instructors to supervise teacher performance on a regular basis.

The officials said a committee consisting of senior officials would supervise the implementation of the programme at zonal, provincial and national levels. (CC)
