The pandemic may have limited some celebrations but the past students of Visakha Vidyalaya showed their boundless creativity in the much-anticipated finale of VV Viva La-Vida – an online talent show organized by the Visakha Vidyalaya Old Girls’ Association that concluded on February 13 on a grand scale at the Jeremias Dias Hall of the school.

The finale was a fine blend of soulful and upbeat performances featuring many talented past Visakhians providing them a global platform to showcase their talents during these challenging times.

VV Viva La-Vida was an innovative concept introduced to overcome the challenges related to the COVID-19 pandemic situation in Sri Lanka.

The stage proved that age is just a number and living in different countries was not a barrier for collaboration and fellowship. A large number of past Visakhians competed in this virtual platform under the five categories as individuals and groups.

An eminent panel of judges was appointed for each category and the winners were then declared from the finalists who performed on the 13th.  (See box on left for the winners)

The show was the brainchild of the Social Activities Sub Committee 2020/21 of the Visakha Vidyalaya Old Girls’ Association. The Visakha Vidyalaya Old Girls’ Association expresses their sincere appreciation to the distinguished members of the panels of judges, sponsors, well wishers, participants and each and every person who contributed to make this event a success!
