Interact champions ‘Covid-19 control environment’ in schools…!

Whilst Sri Lanka has been able to contain the most deadly virus globally Covid-19, as at today almost 21 million people are effected claiming the lives of almost 800,000 people. India recorded one thousand deaths for the fifth day in succession whilst Maldives crosses the 124 cases of Covid-19 patients daily for the last one week..

Given the issues in the neighboring countries, With most schools now starting the usual routines the Interact – Sri Lanka & Maldives have launched the project ‘ Covid-19 control Environment in Schools’ which is done in 3 stages said the District Interact Representative for Sri Lanka & Maldives Rahul Fernandez.

To communicate the ‘ New Normal’ from wearing face masks, social distancing and Hand washing, We are using the top athletes of a respective school so that they will be the ‘ Brand ambasordors’ Of the project in a school.

With the Interact communication campaign getting traction, the best project management organisation for service projects in Sri Lanka with almost 2000 Rotarians, 5800 Rotaractors and 6000 Interactors have ventured out to explain the “ New Normal” as specified in the Safety Guidelines’ developed by the MOH, WHO and GMOA around a school. The target recipients included supermarkets, pharmacies, saloons, private companies and Banks and restaurants around a school. The Interact have given the lead by taking the ‘ safety guidelines’  to the market which includes providing hand washing stations to putting up Hoardings said the Rotary District Governor 2020/21 AjIth Weerasinghe who heads all three institutions on behalf of Rotary International.

We must support the His Excellency the President and the key drivers of Covid-19 National Task Force to flatten the curve he said. Rotarians, Rotaractors and Interactors will support the country fight this Global pandemic said the Stop the spread Project Director for Rotary Sri Lanka & Maldives  Dr Rohantha Athukorala.

To make this new normal behavior systematic; together with SLSI the certification ‘ Covid Control Environment’ has been developed and launched today at the school, we are proud to mention the first school has started the certification process said the District Interact Project Director for Stop the Spread Rahul Raheem.

We will make every school a safer place for parents to send their children said Interactor Raheem.
