Education Minister to visit Eastern University tomorrow
View(s):Education Minister Bandula Gunawardena is to visit the Eastern University of Sri Lanka tomorrow to look into certain complaints on issues faced by the students. The Minister said he received complaints about buildings constructed for university students had not been declared open.
The Minister said he will discuss these issues with the students and try to provide them with the necessary facilities.
“I had also received reports from some students about the police looking to arrest them. I spoke with the Eastern Province DIG to ask him if these issues could be resolved through negotiations. We can’t resolve these issues with tear gas and violence,” the Minister said.
