National Beach Volleyball Championship 2019 from December 20-22

The National Beach Volleyball Championship 2019, organised by the Sri Lanka Volleyball Association (SLVA) and sponsored by Sunquick, will be held at the Negombo Public Beach Park, from December 20-22.
At a press briefing held at the Nation Olympic Committee Auditorium on Tuesday it was revealed that the tournament will be conducted under three categories in Open Men and Women, Under (U)-25 Men and Women and U-20 Boys and Girls.
About 200 teams are expected to participate at this year’s championship with the winners receiving handsome cash awards and championship trophies.
The U-25 event will be for Men and Women born on or after January 10, 1995, while the U-20 event is for Boys and Girls born on or after January 1, 2001.
As Sri Lanka is making steady progress in the sport, the SLVA intends to hire a coach from Finland in the near future.
Sri Lanka made her 1st international appearance at the 2012 Asia Pacific Games, when they defeated Hong Kong for their victory. Three years later, they won a medal at the South Asian Games.
Applications will be received up to December 15, 2019, by the Secretary, Sunquick National Beach Volleyball Championship 2019, No. 33, Independence Avenue, Colombo 7.
On the final day of the championship, an evening beach party of musical entertainment and fun games for everyone will be held.
