Curtain comes down on 13th annual Inter-Sussex Chess Championships 2019

Curtain came down of the 13th annual Inter-Sussex Chess Championship at the Auditorium of Sussex College in Malabe yesterday with nearly 250 competitors from 20 colleges from island wide gathering for the highly competitive event.

Seven different age groups for girls and boys of age categories from Under-8 to Under-20 were held. The Sunil Jayatissa Challenge Trophy will be awarded to the College with the highest number of aggregate, after calculating the outcomes.

Last year the championship was won by Kandy Sussex College while Malabe were the runners-up.

W.I.M. Sachini Ranasinghe, the Sri Lanka Youth Captain graced the awards ceremony as the Chief Guest. Sunil Jayatissa, the Founder Chairman and CEO were the Guest of Honour.
