Sri Lanka has netted in former Belarus National Table Tennis player and renowned coach, Aleksey Yefremov to help the national table tennis team in preparation for the South Asian Games scheduled to be held in Kathmandu, Nepal in December.

His enrollment was facilitated by the Asian Table Tennis Union Development Programme in collaboration with the National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka and the Interim Committee of Table Tennis, Sri Lanka.

The Belarus coach will be in Sri Lanka from October 19 to 31, 2019.

Yefremov holds a degree as a TT coach and Professor of Physical Education and Sports, and have studied for four years at the State University of Physical Education and Sport. He also has completed several courses such as ITTF Level 2 Course Conductor Training in Sweden in 2008 and have followed an ITTF Level 3 Conductor Course Training In Malaysia in 2012.

He has experience in coaching for over two decades in four different countries, both as national and club coach in Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America with several players of highest ranked.

Yefremov had worked with several national teams, such as Guatemala (2004-7), India (2008), Egypt (2009-11), Colombia (2011-13), Peru (2013-15), UAE (2016), Norway and Ireland (2017).
