The final phase of the Inter-Academy Under-12 Football Championship, organised and conducted by the Football Federation of Sri Lanka (FFSL), got underway yesterday at the Racecourse ground in Colombo.  The final stage consists of 12 teams who are the winners of first and second stages of the competition.

The first stage was played on February 16 at the City Football Complex, in Colombo with 26 academy teams competing from all around the country. The competition was held under league basis in seven groups. The group winners qualified for the final round of Inter-Academy Under-12 Championship.

Barcelona FA, First Touch FA, Saunders FA, Manchester FA, Renown FA, Java Lane FA and Jaffna FFSL are the teams that qualified from the first round.

The second stage of the competition was played on March 16 at the City Football Complex with 19 academy teams from across the country competing. This competition too, was played as league basis in five groups. The group winners qualified for the final round from the second round were Sussex FA, Seta FA, Traveler FA, Liverpool FA and Solid FA.
