Climbing Sri Pada these days in what is considered the “off season” is an arduous task. Those hiking the sacred mountain must brave torrential rains and the biting cold to reach the peak. The off season climb however, is increasingly becoming popular among adventurous travellers, including foreign tourists.

Captured here on a clear day is a view of some of the landmark buildings of Colombo including its latest addtion, the Lotus Tower. The other buildings include the Bank of Ceylon building and the World Trade Centre.

Those making their way to the peak can also see several waterfalls that are only seen during this rainy season.
