Seven Chinese nationals working in the Aruwakkalu sanitary landfill without valid work visas were released on bail yesterday after being produced before Puttalam Acting Magistrate Abdul Cader.

Their lawyer argued that his clients had come to Sri Lanka on tourist visas valid till November 10 and claimed they had only visited the landfill and not come to work.

The Acting Magistrate released them on a surety bail of Rs 100,000 each and ordered them to appear in court on Tuesday.
