MSU’s 25th Convocation Ceremony
View(s):Management and Science University (MSU) gracefully held its 25th Convocation with one thousand nine hundred and nineteen graduate holders on 3rd & 4th August 2019.
Presenting the graduation awards in the first of the three-session event was graced by MSU Chancellor, His Royal Highness Tengku Sarafudin Badlishah Ibni Al-Aminul Karim Sultan Sallehuddin with Pro-Chancellor Dr. Wan Mohd Zahid Mohd Noordin, MSU & MSI President, Prof. Dr Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid and MSU Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Junainah Abd Hamid.
The MSU President congratulated all the graduates and their parents, emphasizing that, “Success is never about ‘me’ but always about ‘we’. Your success today is due to the support of everyone. We owe to everyone. Always be appreciative and thankful, and never forget your roots.”
At this Convocation, Degree and Diploma Awarding for the graduates of six study programmes was held, (1) Master of Science in Engineering, (2) Master of Information Technology, (3) Bachelor in Patisserie Arts (Hons), (4) Diploma in Logistics Management, (5) Diploma in Radiotherapy, and (6) Diploma in Hair Dressing.
A hundred and eleven graduates have received their postgraduate degree, a thousand and twenty-three have received their bachelor’s degree and seven hundred and eighty-five their diploma.
Forty-eight received special prizes across five categories of Best Students from the Class of 2019. Twenty-six have received the Academic Award and eighteen graduates have received the Industry Award.
The certificates were awarded by MSU Chancellor, His Royal Highness Tengku Sarafudin Badlishah Ibni Al-Aminul Karim Sultan Sallehuddin. Prof. Dr. Mohd Shukri Ab.Yajid, President of MSU & MSI also graced at this convocation.
Management & Science University (MSU), Malaysia has established the Management & Science Institutes (MSI) in Colombo to create better opportunities for Sri Lankan students to obtain an excellent education in Sri Lanka. MSU is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) and recognized by the University Grant Commission (UGC) of Sri Lanka & also its MBBS programme has recognized by Sri Lankan Medical Council (SLMC).
The Research-Based PhD programme offered by MSU is to meet the international standards by complementing the thesis work with minimum of three journal publications. The programme consist a systematic evaluation system of developing the best academic, analytical and research skills starting from a (1) Defense of Proposal, (2) Thesis Work Completion Seminar and (3) the Final Defense of VIVA. A Malaysian supervisor who is assigned by the university and a local Academic advisors guides the PhD candidates. Monthly progress monitoring and all exams are conducted by MSU Malaysia.

Accomplishing the Doctor of Philosophy in Management from MSU is a remarkable milestone in my life. In this journey, MSU provided and facilitated me to perform the research study within a wonderful learning atmosphere, while maintaining the world class of academic standards.
My research-based PhD thesis was “Impact of Brand Knowledge and Brand Rewards on Brand Commitment towards Brand Citizenship Behavior: A Study on Sri Lankan commercial Banks”.

Students successfully completed Diploma in Hospitality, Business Management, Biomedical Science programmes following though MSI and the Bachelor of Hospitality & Tourism Management (Hons) degree and Bachelor of international Business (Hons) Degree programmes through MSI Colombo was graduated in this convocation ceremony.

A graduate tracer study conducted by the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education shows a ninety eight percent (98.6 %) employability rate of graduates entering the work environment. This rate is the highest among all higher learning institutions in Malaysia
