Ex Vidyartha sportsman turns philanthropist
View(s):The President of the Vidyartha College Old Boys’ Association, Ranjith Weerasinghe responded magnificently to the principal’s request for some computers for the students by providing 40 computers, at his own expense.
Earlier, the students who had only one or two computers, used to make their way to Marassana (quite some distance away) for their IT work. Around 25 students were staring at one screen before the OBA President came to their rescue.
Further, Weerasinghe has made arrangements for a new computer centre which is very spacious and equipped with air conditioning. This is probably the best IT centre among the schools in Kandy. – AK
