Seethadevi Girls’ College Kandy wins at Inter-School Western Music and Dance Competition 2019
View(s):Seethadevi Girls’ College Kandy won the 1st Place in Western Dance ( B. Category- open) and 3rd place in the Western Orchestra, surpassing tough competition, in the recently concluded Inter-School Western Music and Dance Competition 2019 held in Maharagama National Institute of Education.
The Western Dance squad was ably guided by Master-in-chief Mrs.C.Pradipika while choreography was conducted by Mrs. S.D.Bandara, Mr. A.E.Godage and Mrs.J.B.Padmakanthi. The winning squad (from left to right) consist of O.K. Udukumbura, H.N.Divyanjai, K.N.Lenadora, S.W. Dissanayake, S.V. Jayasinghe, A.S.Wijesinghe, B.B. Hettiarachchi, S.K.Karunarathne, S.V. Edirisinghe, U.N. Weerasurendra, U.S. Weerasurendra, T.S. Bandara, M.S.Wickramasinghe, S.N.Premarathne, I.P.Warnasooriya, S.I. Raneeze.
The Symphony Orchestra which won 3rd place was motivated by Master-in-chief Mrs.C.Pradipika and the rest of the panel. The winning orchestra consist of (from right to left) D.M.R.M. Bulumulla(Violin), R.W.W.V.C. Vatagoda(Violin), K.N.Lenadora(Flute), S.I. Raneeze(Cymbal), S.K.Karunarathne(Trumpet), S.V.Jayasinghe(Saxophone/ Tenor), S.D.Jayarathne(Cymbal), B.B.Hettiarachchi(Flute), U.N.Weerasurendra(Trombone), A.S. Wijesinghe(Euphonium), S.K.Bandara (Bass drum), S.N. Premarathne(Euphonium), U.S.Weerasurendra(Trombone), I.P. Warnasooriya(Bongo), S.W.Dissanayake(Side drum), O.K.Udukumbura(Saxophone), S.V.Edirisinghe(Side Drum), H.N.Divyanjana (Trumpet).
