Despite a majority of commuters relying on public transport to get to their destination, scant respect is paid to commuter comfort, with many of the bus stops not offering basic facilities.

It is not uncommon to see bus stops which have completely collapsed. Many a bus halt has lost its roof -a testament to shoddy construction.

In many instances, though the roofs are intact, these roofs leak like sieves.

Some bus stops are so dirty and dilapidated, commuters are forced to stand away from them. In others the original bus stop no longer exists, as authorities have shifted them for one reason or another!

Isn’t it time those responsible stopped turning a blind eye to these shortcomings.
