Veddha chief refuses to be presidential candidate

The indigenous Veddha people’s leader, Uruwarige Wannilla Aththo, says many people ask him why he does not contest the presidential election. Speaking at an event recently to mark his 72nd birthday, he said, “Although many ask me this question, I do not want to get caught up in messy politics.
