Colombo Colt Cricket Club has raised its objections against holding today’s Annual General Meeting of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC). The reason for the objection is non-circulation of Audited Financial Statements in respect of the preceding year.

According to the Sports Law and the Sports Regulation gazetted therein, it requires audited accounts to be passed at an Annual General Meeting for the preceding year.

However, SLC has failed to circulate the Audited Accounts to its membership for the year 2018.

“As holding the said AGM is a clear violation of the Sports Law No.25 of 1973 and the constitution of Sri Lanka Cricket, we have formally submitted our objection, for holding the said Annual General Meeting,” the objection letter signed by Colts President, Nishantha Ranatunga, stated.

SLC however said, that, they have submitted the financial statements to be audited by the Government Auditors Department, and they are yet to receive the final reports. The Annual General Meeting will be held as planned today.
