Giving their usual musical concerts a fun twist, the De Lanerolle brothers celebrating their 10 years of performing as a duo had everyone on their feet on April 5 at the Hilton Grand Ballroom with ‘Rocking and De-Rolling’. A first ever show in this style for the duo, they hoped to revive something ‘only done by the Peter Prins Combo’, a concert in which they sweetly serenaded couples to favourite hits of the past.

This concert was the fourth in  a series of ten concerts they plan to perform in Sri Lanka to celebrate their decade of introducing their brand – the De Lanerolle Brothers showcasing their powerful combination of tenor and baritone harmony.

They started the night off with a medley Patrizio Buanne’s  ‘Il Mondo’ (My World) the country music ballad ‘Help me make it through the night’ and an all time favourite ‘I can see clearly now’.

As the first note of music filled the ballroom, couples immediately started taking to the floor, revisiting the days of their youth as they spun around with flair and elegance.

They slowed the tempo down with a beautiful rendition of Elvis Presley’s ‘Spanish Eyes’ as the couples swayed softly to the music.

After a small intermission, the pace picked up with a personal favourite The Drifters ‘Save the Last Dance’ and Engelbert Humperdinck’s ‘Ten Guitars’.

All the couples, both young and old brought out their best quickstep, waltz and tangos for the concert as they danced the night away.

‘Delilah’ by Tom Jones, ‘Take Me Home Country Road’ by John Denver and ‘Release Me’ by Engelbert Humperdinck were some of the other songs covered by this dynamic duo whose fanbase is ever expanding.
