The New Zealand education system is government regulated and has strong quality assurance systems to ensure high-quality education at all levels of the education system. It ensures and assures Quality, Global recognition and Caring for students especially international students. In NZ, you can be certain of gaining a high-quality education that will improve your job prospects in the global marketplace. The flexible, supportive New Zealand education system gives students the skills and experience they need to succeed anywhere in the world.

In selecting the institution to study, select either a university or an Institute of Technology & Polytechnics (ITPs). Whilst the 8 universities which are research led and generally academics offer higher degree-level education programmes the 16 ITPs offer degrees which are more vocational oriented. However both types of institutions do not compromise on quality as there is government quality control in place on standards of courses.

The other advantage in studying in NZ is the ability to get work experience without any difficulty. The scheme now in place since late 2018 is even more generous than in Australia.  You may be able to apply for a post-study work visa which will allow you to work for up to three years in New Zealand after you graduate, depending on what you study and where you study. If you complete a qualification in an area that is skilled and in demand in New Zealand, you may be able to continue working in New Zealand after your post-study work visa by applying for a different type of work visa or a skilled migrant visa. NZ is thus a very few countries in the world that still welcomes young graduates to join its work force.

As New Zealand’s leading university, the University of Auckland ranked within the best 100 universities in the world, plays home to students from over 110 different countries. Ranked in the top 100 universities in the world, the University of Auckland is also New Zealand’s top university for graduate employability. It has over 6,500 international students and the university is the home for 45% of all doctoral candidates. With eight faculties spanning a range of disciplines students can easily select the courses that have major employment appeal right now, in IT/ Healthcare/ Engineering & Construction, Business & Finance.

The representatives from the University of Auckland will be at Edlocate Colombo office at 79/5, Horton Place, Colombo 7 on 26th February from 2-5pm. Learn about the different courses on offer and also how to secure one from a number of scholarships on offer for high achievers.

Parents – you are most welcome to accompany your children. Give your child the opportunity to gain a world-class education, make lifelong friendships and learn new ways of thinking. Auckland’s stunning scenery and busy nightlife make an ideal setting for students who want to expand their horizons and experience student life in another country.
